To guarantee the quality and consistency of our vanilla extracts, we implement a rigorous two-step verification process.
Stage 1: Vanilla beans are carefully inspected at the point of harvest in Madagascar to ensure peak freshness and integrity.
Stage 2: Upon arrival in the UK, the beans undergo comprehensive quality testing across multiple parameters in independently accredited laboratories.
Only after meeting our exacting standards are the beans approved for processing.
Type and provenance
We work solely with Vanilla planifolia – the most prized of the three globally cultivated vanilla species – grown in Madagascar, where ideal conditions produce its signature depth and complexity.
Madagascan vanilla beans, also known as Bourbon vanilla, named after the Indian Ocean island group Île Bourbon, are among the finest in the world. Renowned for their rich, creamy flavour, they offer delicate sweet and floral notes that make them the preferred choice for premium applications.
